I felt like I was in the mood for something a bit simple and fuss-free Monday, so I pulled out this simple gray dress I usually tie with a black sash. When my husband took this photo, I whined a little about how I didn’t think it was so great. But I shrugged it off, settled and just figured I “had a case of the Mondays.”
It turned out Monday had bigger (wetter) plans for me though. As soon as I started walking toward the office, the sky was super-dark gray and a fierce, heavy, super-dark out downpour came through. Like, my umbrella-was-comically-unhelpful, my-hair-was-dripping-wet downpour. My dress was soaked completely through and dripping wet. That little bow in my sash – completely untied. It was 8:30 in the morning, pre-coffee, on a Monday, and the day was pretty much a waste of makeup.
At that point, all I could do was laugh. And maybe laugh/cry a bit. I pulled out a dry pair of shoes from my desk, ran out super fast to buy a new dress, pulled up a ponytail and got on with the day.
Lesson Learned: Do not whine on Monday mornings. Duly noted, Mother Nature. Duly noted.
